The Musical Box, the only band in the world to acquire from Peter Gabriel and Genesis the performing rights and access to archives, audio tracks and original slideshow for "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", re-stages 25 years later the original concert in painstaking details.

C'est sur une histoire de Peter Gabriel que Genesis, repoussant les limites de son ingéniosité musicale, dévoile en 1974 son nouvel album double "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", qui inclut les titres iconiques "Fly on A Windshield", "In The cage" et "Carpet Crawlers".
La première du spectacle, prévue en octobre 74 en Angleterre, est repoussée due à une blessure à la main de Steve Hackett, pour finalement être présentée en Amérique quelques semaines plus tard devant un public dubitatif, alors que l'album n'est toujours pas disponible et son répertoire inconnu.
Le spectacle, ni plus ni moins qu'un des premiers opéra-rock de l'histoire, présente l'album dans son intégralité, supporté par un imposant système de projection avec plus de 1000 diapositives, des costumes et décors inusités et un arsenal d'effets visuels et pyrotechniques... Une mise en scène très innovatrice mais fastidieuse, qui n'ira pas sans de fréquentes difficultés techniques.
Après une tournée de plus de 100 concerts en Amérique et en Europe, Peter Gabriel annonce son départ du groupe en août 1975. Pour plusieurs, ce sera la fin d'une ère.
Méconnu, jamais filmé et très peu documenté, il semblerait que "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" soit né dans l'adversité et deviendra sans contredit l'oeuvre la plus mythique de Genesis.
